How to change Arabic to your home language?

You can change the Arabic language to your home language easily in just 1 minute. Suppose you want to change [ar] to French [fr] language.

• 1. Translate the files contents of ("backLang.php","frontLang.php") to your language. Also you can translate all other files contents but not required.
• 2. IMPORTANT: On this file "resources/lang/ar/backLang.php" DON'T change these three lines.

      'code' => 'ar',
      'boxCode' => 'ar',
      'boxCodeOther' => 'en',

• Note: You can do translation from the dashboard >> Webmaster >> Translations.
• Note: Don't change the language folder name it will still the same name "resources/lang/ar".
• Note: The language code will still [ar] but it will return your language as you translate on files.

How to add a new languages?

NOTE: This is a brief to show you the road plan for adding new languages. You need to have a good knowledge of PHP and Laravel framework. If you want to save your time, You can order a language add-on service for only $60. You can contact me on : eng.mondi@gmail.com

SmartEnd is coming with two default languages ( English & Arabic ), With ability to enable or disable every one. These are steps to modify and add more languages . In my example i will add French language [ fr ] :

• STEP1: Define the new language
• STEP2: Prepare Database , Migrations & Seeds and add new language columns
• STEP3: Modify Views & Forms
• STEP4: Modify Controllers ( Insert & Update to database )

STEP1: Define the new language

• Go to this path : resources/lang
• Duplicate this folder en and rename it to fr
• Open every file in this new folder [fr] and translate text to your new language fr ( You can use the Visual Translations on the dashboard to do that )
• Important variables you will find them in the top of backLang.php file, Must be like this

      'boxCodeOther' => 'en', // Default lang for if  (title_fr) is empty it will return  (title_en)

      'calendarLanguage' => 'fr', // Define your new calendar language

• To Add the new language to the languages list to allow user to choose his favorite language:
  • Modify this file resources/views/backEnd/includes/settings.blade.php change this part of code from:

STEP2: Prepare Database , Migrations & Seeds and add new language columns

• Note : If you are working Live/online You can add your new columns to your MySQL database manually using PHPMyAdmin and SKIP this step, But I recommend to follow these steps
• Go to this path : database/migrations
• You will need to modify all these files

  • ..._create_settings_table.php
  • ..._create_menus_table.php
  • ..._create_banners_table.php
  • ..._create_maps_table.php
  • ..._create_attach_files_table.php
  • ..._create_countries_table.php

• Optional : To Modify the default data in tables, Modify Seeds on this path : database/seeds:

  • TopicsSeeder.php
  • SettingsSeeder.php

• Optional : If you want to make the new language optional to be enabled or disabled from the Webmaster settings you will need to edit this migration [2017_02_16_230800_create_webmaster_settings_table.php]: like this:

  Also add the new default setting on seeds/WebmasterSettingsSeeder.php
• Now you can remigrate your app to modify the MySQL Database, To do that from terminal point to your app folder and run these three command one by one:

              php artisan migrate:rollback
              php artisan migrate
              php artisan db:seed

STEP3: Modify Views & Forms

• To add the new text boxes to forms, You will need to modify all next files on resources/views/backEnd and add the new language fields text boxes
  • topics/create.blade.php
  • topics/edit.blade.php
  • sections/create.blade.php
  • sections/edit.blade.php
  • menus/create.blade.php
  • menus/edit.blade.php
  • banners/create.blade.php
  • banners/edit.blade.php
  • settings/settings.blade.php
  
  For example to add a text box for title in french:

   @if(Helper::GeneralWebmasterSettings("fr_box_status"))
      {!! Form::text('title_fr','', array('placeholder' => '','class' => 'form-control','id'=>'title_fr'

  For example to add a text area with editor for details in french:

  You need to do that for all Create & edit files.

STEP4: Modify Controllers ( Insert & Update to database )

• To save & update data that send from forms, You will need to modify next controllers on this path app/Http/Controllers
  • SectionsController.php
  • TopicsController.php
  • MenusController.php
  • BannersController.php
  • SettingsController.php
  You will need to modify store & update functions.
  Like this:

              $Topic = new Topic;
              $Topic->row_no = $next_nor_no;
              $Topic->title_ar = $request->title_ar;
              $Topic->title_en = $request->title_en;
              $Topic->title_fr = $request->title_fr; // add the new french title
              $Topic->details_ar = $request->details_ar;
              $Topic->details_en = $request->details_en; // add the new french details

  Do the same for the other controllers.

Congratulations : now you have your app with three languages.
